Just deciding to give distance study a go is a huge first step, especially if the whole idea of study is new to you. The next step is deciding exactly what you want to study. This is likely to be a much easier decision. After all, you will probably have some ideas about what you are interested in.
Your teen is chronically defiant. All teenagers talk back or buck up against the system from time to time. This is normal because teens are trying to find themselves and to do so, they must reject authority figures in some ways. This is why you shouldn’t take rejection personally, but it is also why you need to pay attention when defiance becomes chronic. If your child won’t listen to anyone, even when you know that he knows that adults are acting in his best interests, you have may have a troubled teen. Normal teens are alternately receptive, compliant and rebellious. When they realize that their behavior was out of line, they apologize.
Now take a serious look at your list. Can you see any links to the subjects you write my paper co? These links may not seem obvious at first; however as you allow yourself flexibility of thinking you may start to notice a pattern. Use arrows, circles and coloured pens to take note of places where your curiosity intersects with your subjects. The links will be there, even if you need to use some lateral thinking to recognise them. For example you may want to know more about how to make money. This could link to Business Studies or Economics. You may want to know how to communicate more effectively with girls /boys. Can you can see a link to English (or the themes in your prescribed texts). Do you want to improve your skill at a particular sport? Maybe you can find a link to Biology or Physics.
Text message recording is just another tool for you to use as a parent. It is natural that you may wonder what your teen is texting. Stop wondering and use SMS monitoring to safeguard your teen. Hopefully, you may start recording and realize that your teen is doing no wrong. From there, you can keep the monitoring to a minimum. But if there is something going on, you have the ability to stop it before it turns into something even worse.

Ask your teen to write a list of all the habits s/he would like to change. (E.g., greater respect for myself; better opinion of myself; stand up for myself to my friends).

Today, there are many options available for studying Spanish. You just have to go for the method that will work for you. Keep in mind that what works for another student might not be an effective method of learning for you.
So next time you feel any of those negative feelings (or potentially distracting super hero/heroine fantasies of writing glory), stop them cold by naming them as the creativity zappers they are and come back into the present moment. Then rest there, listen to what arises and say yes.
